Back in Tyne (Second year team project)

An App showcasing local history

The second year team project in University was to make an app on local history for Northumberland County Council. We called our app Back in Tyne as a pun on the phrase back in time as well as making it local with reference to the River Tyne. After viewing the results of the market research it was decided this app would focus on a wide variety of different historical sites including castles and battlefields of all different eras to give an overview to everything this area has to offer.

For this project I was the programming lead, thus responsible for reasearching and deciding on the technologies, breaking up the application and assigning programming team members to each section

During the implementation I coded the settings page involving settings for dark mode and colour-blind mode to the app, as well as a “contact us” feature where the user can send an email from within the app. I also implemented the Events and gallery pages
